Songs from "Wonderful Land"
2009
"Wonderful Land" is a collection of songs I recorded in the year 2009. I wrote most of them on school bus #7544 before my afternoon route as a way to pass the time, which in retrospect seems to have been an effective approach. In fact, I would recommend that anyone who is bored during a lunch break should imagine a fantasy band to pass the time; mine was Yaeder Mosfet & The Planets and here are their songs:
- La Solitude du Magicien
- Heigh-ho!
- Sub-Saharan Time-Traveler / At the Council of Antiquities / Tomb KV-55
- Henri Mancini's Moon Rover
- Allergy Park
- "That's Amore"
- Hot Street Silver Car
- Catalina Island
- Wayne's World Wayne's World
- Broken Stranger
- Bug Light
These can be had in one of two ways: 1) You can download them to your personal computer or... 2) You can request a VHS copy for $100 (alternately, if you supply the tape I will make a copy for $0).

A documentary (kind of) called This Happened
2009
A forthcoming full-length documentary about a trans-continental hitchhiking journey that took place in the summer of 2008. Filmed by Andy Smith and the very wonderful Scott Stevens as they hitched from New York City to Portland, Oregon. Featuring such distinct locales as the sun bleached plains of Pecos, the swampy flatlands of the Midwest, and mighty Multonomah Falls, the movie will also spotlight a cast of actual people who aren't afraid to pick up hitchhikers. Post-production to begin September '08.
Bruce Underwater, a movie
2005
Set and shot in beautiful Abilene, Texas in the summer of 2005, Bruce Underwater is a feature-length film that is kind of funny and kind of boring. It follows the story of Bruce, the pampered, self-involved heir to his own father's legendary Honnecourt Microphones empire. Convinced that he must write an operetta using the language of whales, Bruce sets out to find the long lost schematics to a hydrophone which will allow him to record and study the songs of the whales, all the while knowing that his father, Reginald, has plans of his own. There's also lots of sneaking around. Features music by Jens Lekman, Yo la Tengo, Stereo Total, and Sufjan Stevens, among others. DUE TO LICENSING RESTRICTIONS, THIS MOVIE IS NOT FOR SALE. If you want to see it, get in touch with me and I can send you a copy or something.
The Adams Product, a short thing
2006
A short movie shot for the 2006 FilmFest competition in Abilene, TX. Features Bryce Doty as a daytime home shopping newtwork-type salesman trying to sell an obsolete, functionless machine. With hilarious results.

2008
Officially put on by The Olde Pennsylvania City Logos & PowerPointe Society for Geniuses, this series brought together an assortment of artists, intellectuals, inventors, and know-it-alls from across the greater Philadelphia area to present lectures covering a broad range of pertinant topics. "Secret Truths and Infinite Mysteries," the foundation's first lecture held during the waning summer of 2007, dealt with often overlooked issues plaguing the city of Philadelphia, birthplace of freedom. Michael Gerkovitch, Dave Deyette, Andy Smith, Billy Fatzinger, and Scott Gelber presided.
The Society's second lecture, "How to Talk to Girls," was a high-water mark for audience turnout. Held over two nights at the Circle of Hope and Space 1026, respectively, the original lineup welcomed Gavin "Kevin" Riley, Bonnie Scott, Abbey Sarver, and Matt Borda to the podium. Animations, music, PowerPoint slides, video, and aggresive dialectic helped to define the evening.
Thy Olde Murkville Forest
Thy Old Murkville Forest, brainchild of talented illustrator Ryan Feerer, is an imaginary world that will come to life in the form of illustrations, a compilation CD with original music written for Murkville, and an interactive website. I've been doing some writing for it, layed out the liner notes for the album, and might work on some other things. The video is a cool animation Ryan did. As it is an ongoing project, more info will be posted here as needed.
